Just want to say that I had a terrific time in DC. This was my first trip to our nation's capitol and it was a memorable one! I can't even think of what I liked best. Mt. Vernon was gorgeous, all the monuments were so impressive, Arlington went on forever, The Capitol Building was amazing with all the statues, the museums were awesome and filled with so much to look at, and let's not forget about the wonderful down comforter on that bed at The Hampton Inn...how I loved the sight of that bed on Thursday night!!!! The driver's were terrific and so personable, we loved Bob and Tommy. The best part, though, had to be how impressed I was at the level of maturity our students maintained while they were so far away from home. I would reccommend this trip to any family. What a great lifetime experience for these young adults! Thank you Mrs. Peveler for such a wonderful time.

Another successful and enjoyable trip to Washington, D.C. with our fifth grade students. Can't wait to debrief with students tomorrow. Although the weather was not very cooperative, the students were real troopers. The students represented Highland in an awesome way. I am so proud of all our fifth graders. Hope it was a trip of a lifetime for you.

Mores Pics and a Video
Soooooo tired. What a day! There are pictures from day 2 in the Photo Gallery and a video at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Promise to add more videos very soon - including the wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb.
Looking forward to another fun-filled (if wet!) day tomorrow! Good night.
